BadmintonIn the month of February students have been practicing a backyard classic with the game of badminton. A great game to practice hand-eye coordination while learning to communicate with teammates to be successful on the court. Badminton is such a great sport to play with family and friends during the summer months. The game is engaging in both casual and competitive settings.

Fitness Assessment in October
For the month of October student's have their fitness skills assessed. This assessment will help students view their current physical fitness levels. Student's will be able to view both their fitness strengths and areas of weakness through this basic fitness assessment. Students are assessed in the fall and then again in the spring to see if they have made any progress throughout the school year in reaching specific fitness goals. Students are assessed in five different fitness areas. They are upper body strength (modified push-ups or standard), flexibility( toe touch and shoulder zipper test), abdominal strength (sit-ups), agility (shuttle run), and cardiovascular endurance (1/2 mile or full mile run). Student's record their initial scores in the fall and then try to beat their own personal records again in the spring.
